About AetherDev

AetherDev is the umbrella for Josh Barton's development work and the systems it produces.

AetherDev is the name Josh Barton uses for all development projects and systems. We use Project Atlas as the documentation hub that pulls those efforts into a shared system map for internal and external reference. We use it to keep the larger picture of AetherDev designs and methodologies visible as we build automation, reporting, and integration workflows.

We treat Project Atlas as the living system map for AetherDev, an inclusive catalog of real tools, prototypes, and platforms, organized so reality can reliably become action.

Today, all AetherDev work is authored by Josh Barton. The intent is to grow this into a shared methodology and platform over time, but the current catalog reflects a single builder’s work.

What we believe

  • Strategy and design should move as one system.
  • We document decisions so work scales beyond the original authors.
  • Operational excellence is a creative advantage.
  • Research is a daily habit, not a phase.

How we work

Today, AetherDev is led by a single developer. The work is still structured around clear playbooks and shared research notes so future collaborators can onboard quickly.

If you are joining future work, start with the development guide to understand how we structure the site, how we document projects, and how we maintain the living narrative of AetherDev.

We design Atlas so the work can outlive a single builder. The structure makes systems transferable: clear boundaries, explicit interfaces, and operational playbooks that survive context loss.
